Mahendranagar: In a heart-wrenching incident, a wild tusker lost its life after becoming trapped in a septic tank at Shuklaphanta municipality in Kanchanpur district. The unfortunate incident occurred last night, casting a pall of sorrow over the area.
Kishor Kumar Mehata, the Chief Conservation Officer at Shuklaphanta National Park, disclosed that the wild elephant met its unfortunate fate when it accidentally fell into a septic tank located within the premises of the Watawaran Buffer Zone Community Forest in Shuklaphanta municipality-7.
Evidently, the incident occurred around 12 midnight, leading to the tragic demise of the wild tusker. "A team comprising technical experts is currently on-site to gather evidence regarding the incident," shared Mehata.
As the investigation into the incident unfolds, efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the tusker's tragic predicament are underway. Mehata affirmed that the final rites for the elephant will be conducted with due reverence and adherence to the appropriate procedures.
